Testimony!

"How should I begin to prepare my Testimony?" This is a question fellow Christians may think. I took a class about a year ago that talked about how to share your testimony. This really helped me in developing my testimony better and then going to Honduras this past January and getting to share it to others I didn't even know! If you have never written your testimony out, I strongly encourage you to do so.

There are 3 basic characteristics:
IT has authority
IT communicates your heart and life
IT relates

FOUR points in a Testimony (based off of Apostle Paul - Acts 22)
1. My life before Jesus
2. Element of why you needed Christ
3. How did it happen, how did you receive Christ?
4. How Jesus makes my life full.

Review these four points you will use them in preparing your testimony.

Simple Facts to Remember:
  • Your testimony is important. If it is important to you, it will become important to other people.
  • As you prepare your testimony, seek the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
  • God honors preparation. Carefully prepare your testimony so you can effectively share Jesus Christ.
  • Remember the four points of a testimony.
  • Keep your testimony short. Its should be from one minute to one and half minutes or about 275 words.
  • Keep your testimony to the point. Remember, you are not describing the theology of how to be saved. You are simply sharing what Christ has done in your life.
  • A person might criticize, "Preparing your testimony is mechanical." Actually, as you share your testimony and relive the experience, God through the Holy Spirit can give your testimony a new thrust, a new dynamic and a new meaning, refreshing your heart and life.
  • Avoid bragging or negative remarks.
  • As you prepare you testimony, consider your words. Use language people understand, not religious words!
Share what is on your heart!!! Happy sharing!! :)
